Edward W. Bean, born in 1828 in Edenderry, immigrated to the U.S. around 1850. He worked in railroads and served as a private in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Bean died in 1906 and is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta, Georgia. He had strong family ties in Ireland.
