Born In Edenderry, Co. Offaly Michael Malone served in the 15th Kentucky Regiment. Struck by a cannon ball during The Battle of Perryville he died on the 8th October 1862.
Sergeant Patrick Cooke, born in 1831 in Ireland, served in the 16th Kentucky Infantry during the Civil War. He participated in key battles, including Franklin and Nashville. Cooke witnessed the surrender of General Johnson at Bennett Place in April 1865, marking the war’s end. He later farmed with his family in Kentucky until his death in 1904.
Patrick Guilfoyle, an Irish immigrant, settled in Louisiana after escaping famine. William served in the Union Army, contracted typhoid fever, and died by jumping from a hospital window in 1862, leaving behind a family marked by tragedy.
