The Egan Brothers From Ballycommon. Fought In The Union Army During The US Civil War 1861-1865
The Egan family emigrated from Offaly, Ireland, to Hartford County, Connecticut, in 1850. Three brothers, Michael, William, and John, were among the 33 sets of brothers from their region who fought in the U.S. Civil War. William died of yellow fever, while John served in the 22nd Connecticut Infantry, highlighting their significant involvement.
